Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 0 minutes
Total Time: 5 minutes
Serves: 1Â
Ingredients:
1 store-bought or homemade croissant
1/4 cup whipping cream
1/2 Tbsp icing sugar
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
2 strawberries
Additional dusting of icing sugar, as garnish
Instructions:
Using a serrated knife, cut the croissant in half and set aside.
Prepping the Strawberries: Rinse and pat the strawberries dry with a tea or paper towel. Using a pairing knife, remove the tops of the strawberries and discard. Cut the strawberries into 1/4 inch slices and set aside.Â
Making the Chantilly Cream:Â To a medium bowl, add the whipping cream and vanilla extract. Sift in the icing sugar using a fine meshed sieve.Â
Using a handheld mixer set over medium speed, beat the cream for approximately 1 minute or until slightly thickened. Then, increase the speed to high and beat the cream for another 1 - 2 minutes or until stiff peaks have formed. Transfer the Chantilly cream to a piping bag.Â
Assembling the Sweet Treat: Lay the bottom half of the croissant onto a plate and pipe the Chantilly cream over top.
Layer the strawberries over the Chantilly cream. You want the strawberry slices to overlap.
Cover with the remaining half of the croissant.Â
The Finishing Touch: Dust icing sugar over top and serve and enjoy!
